Body Books

Books and bodies both have folds, spines, and fit nicely in a hand. As shown in my earlier exploration, Connected, I am very interested in abstracting the body and exploring the different shapes it creates.
In the big body book, the body becomes a landscape of blue and brown. As you unfold the book, you begin to understand that the mountains and rivers are made up of legs and a belly. If you were to traverse the landscape, the most treacherous parts of the path would be in the parts of the body that tend to cause most dysphoria like the chest and groin. In my small body book, I used each page as its own window, capturing a frame of the body up close. Then, I connected the lines of each page to the next, creating a growing being that spreads abstractly across the pages.
