Texas Protest Stencils

When I heard the news about the Texas Abortion Bill, I wanted to express my anger through art, especially as I did more research and read the bill itself. I was struck by the fact that throughout the bill, pregnant people are only referred to as women and I wondered if this bill would still have legal implications for nonbinary people and trans men who can get pregnant. This, along with thinking about bodily autonomy and other issues raised by this bill inspired me to create a set of symbols that could be turned into stencils and used at protests.
My vision is that there could be a table set up at protests against violations of bodily autonomy where people could use provided stencils and spray paint to add these symbols to their posters. I thought that this could help people express themselves when many of these issues are too hurtful to put into words.
